Camping in the jungles...
There I was sitting on the edge of a riverbank with a friend. On the far side of the sky, the sun was setting.
My friends and I had gone for a camping trip to the jungles of Karnataka, some sixty kilometers away from the city. Three adults accompanied us. The best part was that they were letting us do everything.
We started from Bangalore on Friday morning and stayed overnight for three nights and came back on Monday afternoon. We reached Friday evening about five or six o'clock. We had to walk for some time to reach the camping site to pitch our tents. The site was next to a fast flowing river where the water was beating the rock with its full force. The sound of gushing water was just another magnificent sound going along with other creatures.
We settled in and collected some wood to start a fire before it got dark. We used a long stick for fishing. It was difficult at first, then with a lot of perseverence we caught three or four fish. We had a good peaceful sleep after a tiring day.
In the morning it was totally different scenery. The lush green thick forest held the secrets. We walked upstream and another tributary was merging into the stream. The water was crystal clear. We then went rock climbing. It was a tough climb but the result was excellent. The view from the top was nothing but tall trees like a thick carpet which has just been washed.
While coming down our eyes caught a glimpse of an astonishing sight. An eagle was feeding its young ones and as we approached the river, there were tracks of crocodiles. We ran off and later returned to the camping sight exhausted after the run. In the night we had some fried vegetables with rice and went off to sleep.
